Civil Rights Leader Visits Chinquapin

Dr. Virgil Wood is a national civil rights leader who served on the SCLC with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr for 10 years, coordinated the State of Virginia for the March on Washington, and continues as an activist to this day.

We were honored to have Dr. Wood on campus to speak to our students. He gave them an inside view of the important series of events and community action that took place during the Civil Rights era.
