In their College Process class, our juniors – the Class of 2021 – spent the fall working on their interview skills. Students beefed up their resumes, wrote personal essays, and met in groups to determine a field of questions. The class insisted on finding community members outside of the “Chinqua-bubble” to perform the interviews to provide the appropriate interview environment. BBVA and Houston Methodist Hospital Baytown, our Partner in Education, answered the call and gave our students first-hand experience of the interview process. At first, students were nervous, but they gained confidence and truly enjoyed the day. Students left the sessions energized and relieved knowing they’d be able to successfully interview for summer programs, jobs, and college interviews.
