Chinquapin Preparatory School is going all out for its annual fall fundraiser.
The private college-preparatory boarding school for low-income youth, particularly minorities, from the Greater Houston area announced this week that Seth Meyers will headline its virtual event, deemed “A Great Night with Chinquapin Prep,” on October 7 at 7 p.m.
Among his host duties, the Emmy Award-winning writer and host of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” will participate in the auction, featuring items from vacation getaways to artwork.
Previously, Meyers served as head writer on “Saturday Night Live” and anchor of the show’s “Weekend Update. Proceeds will contribute to the cost of college application fees, an upgrade to the school’s computer lab and new sports equipment, according to a representative for the school.
KPRC meteorologist Khambrel Marshall will serve as the evening’s emcee.
Tickets, $100 to $250 per person, are available online.
