Just look what members of Chinquapin Alumni Association have been up to recently:
Alumni raised $763 for student welcome back swag bags! 31 alumni signed up to be mentors! 18 signed up to support seniors with their essays!
Here are some ways for you, as an alum, to get involved:
- Sign up to support the speaker series! In partnership with Morris Nwogwugwu, Class of ’06 and the school’s counselor, we are launching a Career and College Exploration speaker series for juniors and seniors. You will record a 3-7 minute video about your college and/or career experiences, email it to us and we will share in a Google classroom setting once a week with students, featuring a different college and career each week. You can sign up for one of the current open opportunities here, or complete this form to let us know you want to receive information about upcoming speaker opportunities.
- Sign up to be a class rep! You can sign up to be a rep here. As a class rep, you will be the liaison between your class and the CAA. You will ensure that your classmates are receiving information about CAA’s initiatives, meetings, volunteering opportunities, as well as making sure that your class has a voice in shaping the alumni association by providing feedback to the CAA. If you have already signed up, mark your calendars for the first Class Rep meeting happening October 15th at 6:30 PM CST. More details coming!
- Support the fall fundraiser happening virtually October 7th at 7 PM CST. Seth Meyers will be featured! In lieu of an October CAA general body meeting, we want to encourage you to attend the Gala. The Alumni Association has set the goal to have at least 20 alumni buy tickets at the full price of $150, to sponsor a $3,000 “Alumni table.” Of course, we hope many more are able to contribute past this amount! However, by having at least this alumni table sponsored, we will be able to provide the link to all alumni to join, including alumni who may not be able to afford the cost. Rebecca Loredo, Class of ‘11 & the CAA’s Fundraising and Development Chair, and Laura Hipps will be sharing more details shortly. For immediate questions, please email lhipps@chinquapin.org.
